The Mold Maker / Mold Repair Apprentice   performs machine tool work, welding, brazing or bench work required in making repairs and alterations to molds, blanks, bottom plates or finish equipment.  This position may also include machine tool or bench work on new mold equipment.  The Mold Maker / Mold Repair Apprentice is expected to complete the 4-year apprentice program, which includes on-the-job training and classroom time (this is outside of normal work hours) and they will be interviewed by the Apprenticeship Committee of the United Steel Workers, Local 64. The Mold Maker / Mold Repair Apprentice  will: Repair parts including sanding, welding, griding, cutting and polishing as needed Use multiple air tools, hand tools, spray welders, CNC, lathes and torches Inspect and measure parts after work is completed Deliver job change mold equipment and assist with job changes The Mold Maker / Mold Repair Apprentice  should have: Experience using specialized measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers Experience reading blueprints CNC programming skills Welding experience A desire to learn and grow into the Journeyman position

High School Diploma or equivalent 2-year technical degree in tool and die making or machine technology or equivalent years of direct work experience  Previous experience CNC machine experience is highly desired  Must be able to pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis
