YOUR MISSIONS You will also play a role as a cross-functional technical referent supporting teams on complex issues, will intervene on multi-disciplinary interfaces, and will contribute to the resolution of technical discrepancies.
As part of the engineering & methods department, you are responsible for defining the piping engineering process, methods, tools, and calculation rules. In this capacity, you will take charge of the following activities:
Structuring and formalizing the complete piping engineering process, Defining standard piping engineering deliverables, Defining and implementing workflows and interfaces with other disciplines (process, mechanical, structures, HVAC, etc.), Defining design procedures and rules in connection with tools, flexibility calculation, mechanical sizing, etc., Ensuring compliance with codes and standards (ASME, RCC-M, EN, .).
Regarding digitalization: Defining and optimizing design tools, Implementing standard libraries, Improving the process via digitalization and automation.
Regarding standardization, you are responsible for developing and maintaining: Piping standards, Piping classes, Material specifications, Equipment catalogs, Technical purchasing specifications.
Regarding the technical compliance of the product, you are responsible for: Supervising the application of design rules, Monitoring the technical quality of deliverables through sampling, Arbitrating complex technical choices in the piping domain, Participating in design reviews.
Regarding expertise: Ensuring a cross-functional technical referent role, Providing support to operational teams in case of complex issues, Intervening on critical subjects, Contributing to the resolution of technical discrepancies, Setting up training and awareness sessions for engineering teams in the piping domain.
Job location in Lyon with occasional travel to be expected to various NUWARD sites (Paris, Tours) and partner engineering firms.
You will report to the NUWARD Engineering Manager, and you will be in charge of the definition, structuring, and optimization of the global piping engineering process.
YOUR PROFILE You have solid experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and/or nuclear engineering. Experience on nuclear reactor design projects would be a plus. You possess the following skills: Expertise in industrial piping design, Good competence in sizing tools (CAESAR II, PIPESTRESS,..), Good competence in piping standards (Piping Classes), Knowledge of associated equipment (valves, flanges, supports), Good competence in codes and standards (ASME, RCC-M, EN, etc.). English reading, writing, and speaking skills required.
