Within the Product Technical Department, you will join the Safety & Licensing, Codes and methods unit: you will contribute directly to the development of scientific calculation methods and tools that support safety analyses and exchanges with safety authorities.

YOUR MISSIONS

As a true technical referent, you will lead the development, validation, and qualification strategy for study methods and scientific calculation tools (OCS), ensuring their robustness, regulatory compliance, and suitability for the reactor design challenges.

In this capacity, you will be required to:

• Lead the development program for safety demonstration study methods, ensuring their adequacy with the design and study rules of the NUWARD project;
• Elaborate, coordinate, and monitor the OCS development and validation program;
• Lead and monitor tests for the qualification of OCS;
• Validate the technical documentation associated with study methods and calculation tools;
• Contribute to technical exchanges with French and international Safety Authorities as part of the review of methods and tools;
• Provide your expertise to the lead for accident studies on subjects related to core thermohydraulics, technical acceptance criteria, as well as the monitoring and supervision of safety studies;
• Coordinate contributions from internal and external partners to ensure the achievement of the program's technical objectives. Position located in Lyon with occasional travel to be expected to various NUWARD sites (Paris, Tours) and partner engineering firms.

YOUR PROFILE

With a higher education degree from a generalist Engineering School, you have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accident studies and/or proven experience in the validation of scientific calculation tools.

You specifically demonstrate significant experience in several of the following areas:

• Core physics of Pressurized Water Reactors (REP/PWR) and reactor design;
• Use, development, or validation of neutronics and thermohydraulic calculation chains;
• Study methods applied to nuclear safety demonstration;
• Management of complex technical projects involving multiple partners;
• Analysis and translation of regulatory safety requirements in France and internationally (including ASN Guide n°18);
• Preparation of regulatory files and safety demonstrations;
• Design and operation of REP/PWR reactors, with knowledge of SMR technologies being a major asset.
