MISSIONS

As Accidental Qualification Technical Lead, you are a key player in the RNT & Standardization pole of the NUWARD technical team. You will report to the Head of the RNT and Standardization Pole.

In this capacity, you are responsible for defining and managing qualification strategies within NUWARD. This includes implementing associated processes and conducting the accidental qualification process for equipment (MQCA), covering both:

• equipment from the CADO (CAtalogues D'usage Obligatoire) catalogs;
• and specific equipment identified by the systems teams outside of the catalogs:
• definition of required tests (functional, EMC, accelerated aging, seismic resistance, mechanical resistance, radiation resistance),
• consultation and selection of testing laboratories,
• monitoring of test campaigns according to applicable regulatory requirements and management of non-conformities,
• production and review of Qualification Summary Reports (RSQ) and Qualification Maintenance Sheets (FMQ).

Your role is to ensure the consistency, robustness, and applicability of technical frameworks in an export and multi-code context, supporting design (Basic Design) and licensing activities, notably:

• Define the NUWARD equipment qualification strategy by striving to minimize the need for new qualification tests and ensuring consistency with the CADO strategy;
• Analyze project input data and define the qualification requirements applicable to each piece of equipment or system;
• Coordinate interfaces with equipment suppliers, testing laboratories, partner engineering firms, and safety authorities;
• Ensure the proper application of manufacturing surveillance for qualification specimens in accordance with regulatory requirements and quality standards;
• Contribute to responding to tenders and estimating the costs of qualification programs.

Job location in Lyon with occasional travel to be expected to various NUWARD sites (Paris, Tours) and partner engineering firms.

VOTRE PROFIL

Education: Engineer (Master's degree) in mechanical, nuclear, electrical engineering or equivalent

Experience: 15 to 20 years of experience in nuclear engineering, including a significant portion in accidental qualification.

The following skills are expected:

• In-depth expertise in nuclear codes and standards: operational mastery of RCC-E, RCC-M, IEC/IEEE 60780-323, ASME QME-1, IEC 61000 series, IEC 61513, IEC 60780, IAEA Safety Standards EQ for Nuclear Installations, arrêté INB; knowledge of EN codes is appreciated in an export and multi-code context;
• Proven experience in accidental qualification of nuclear equipment: full management of the qualification cycle (definition of strategies, drafting of qualification methods, selection of testing laboratories, monitoring of functional, EMC, aging, seismic, mechanical resistance, radiation resistance tests, management of non-conformities, production and review of RSQ and FMQ);
• Understanding of international regulatory issues (export): experience in nuclear projects with international frameworks (multi-country context), ability to work with industrial partners, engineering firms, and safety authorities abroad;
• Ability to structure and manage complex technical frameworks: production of qualification directives, procedures, process flowcharts, and templates in a demanding project environment (Basic Design, licensing);
• Synthesis, writing, and communication skills: proven experience in drafting technical documents (strategies, reports, procedures) and communicating with industrial partners and international organizations;
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, is required.
