Minimum Qualifications
- A Certificate in Agriculture from a recognized institution.
- A strong interest in poultry farming and livestock management.
- Ability to follow farm instructions, maintain hygiene, and observe biosecurity procedures.
- Good discipline, honesty, teamwork, and commitment to work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Feeding poultry and ensuring a continuous supply of clean drinking water.
- Monitoring bird health, behaviour, growth, and general welfare.
- Identifying and reporting sick birds, unusual deaths, and other health concerns to the farm supervisor.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in poultry houses and surrounding areas.
- Following farm biosecurity procedures, including the proper use of disinfectants, footbaths, and protective clothing.
- Collecting and handling eggs where applicable.
- Assisting with vaccination, medication, weighing, and other routine poultry management activities under supervision.
- Monitoring feeders, drinkers, and other poultry equipment and reporting faults promptly.
- Keeping accurate farm records as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assisting with litter management, waste disposal, and other general farm duties.
- Following instructions from the farm supervisor and observing all company policies.
- Ensuring proper care and responsible handling of poultry at all times.
