Data Centre Design & Infrastructure Strategy Engineer _Contract

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Design & Infrastructure Strategy Engineer to lead the design, expansion, and modernization of data centre infrastructure across multiple regional sites. The role focuses on developing data centre standards, evaluating capacity and growth requirements, building business cases for infrastructure investments, and driving strategic decisions on power, cooling, network, and rack infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data centre design standards, including power, cooling, rack, and cabling requirements.
• Conduct site assessments, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization reviews.
• Develop costed expansion options and business cases for data centre growth and modernization.
• Review and challenge existing infrastructure and network architecture designs.
• Manage and coordinate with colocation providers, engineering consultants, and infrastructure vendors.
• Present recommendations and investment proposals to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong experience in data centre design, engineering, or infrastructure strategy.
• Solid understanding of UPS, PDU, cooling systems, containment, and power distribution.
• Good knowledge of data centre network architectures, including spine-leaf and pod-based designs.
• Experience building business cases, budget planning, and vendor negotiations.
• Exposure to enterprise or financial services environments is preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• CDCP or equivalent Data Centre certification.
• Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Standards and DCIM tools.
