Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the laser welding robot according to Work Orders and predefined programs
- Develop programs and setup plans for the laser welding robot for both existing and new products
- Edit tool and weld paths directly from the machine’s software
- Advise and collaborate with Engineering/Work Preparation teams to optimize the production process
- Participate closely in the design and fabrication of welding jigs and support re-engineering efforts to ensure product suitability for laser welding automation
- Perform daily maintenance on machines, fixtures, and tools
- Report and call Maintenance/Technical Service for any equipment malfunctions
- Ensure safe working practices for oneself and others
- Perform all other related production tasks as required
- Discuss work progress and program discrepancies with the Engineering department
- Coordinate with colleagues regarding priority tasks
- Create programs for the laser welding machine and welding robot using dedicated software
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering Mechanical/Mechatronics) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the sheet metalworking industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of robot operation and programming (KUKA/ABB preferred)
- Knowledge of MIG, TIG, and laser welding processes
