On an industrial site, poorly managed lockout leaves no room for approximation.

Before any intervention and before any commissioning, there must be certainty: hazardous energies are identified, isolated, locked out, and the zero energy state is verified.

👉 NOVAE is looking for a Senior LOTO & Pre-commissioning Supervisor to work on a major industrial project dedicated to renewable hydrogen production in Normandy.

Your role will be central: securing lockouts and supervising multidisciplinary operations preceding the commissioning of the installations.

🔐 YOUR PRIORITY: LOTO MASTERY

You will act as the field referent for Lock Out / Tag Out – LOTO procedures.

In particular, you will be required to:

• prepare and control lockout dossiers;
• supervise the execution of lockouts and lockouts removal;
• define and verify isolation limits;
• supervise the locking and tagging of equipment;
• verify the achievement of the zero energy state before intervention;
• audit lockouts performed on the site;
• work in close collaboration with HSE teams;
• participate in Permit To Work – PTW audits, especially for high-risk operations;
• enforce safety rules and project quality standards.

⚙️ A MULTI-TECHNICAL ROLE

LOTO is at the heart of the position, but your scope does not stop there.

You will also supervise pre-commissioning activities across several disciplines:

🔧 Piping Mastery of mechanical isolation principles: spades, blinds, double block and bleed, isolation limits…

⚡ Electricity Electrical lockouts, LV/MV equipment and securing electrical perimeters.

📡 Instrumentation Understanding of instrumentation systems and participation in necessary controls before commissioning.

You will also contribute to: ✅ Loop Checks; ✅ Line Walks; ✅ troubleshooting operations; ✅ startup preparation activities.

🏗️ YOU ARE ALSO A SITE SUPERVISOR

Your responsibility also consists of ensuring that operations progress under the right conditions of safety, quality, and execution.

You will thus be required to:

• supervise subcontractors and teams;
• monitor the progress of activities;
• verify compliance with site HSE rules;
• challenge practices when safety requires it;
• identify discrepancies and contribute to their resolution;
• support teams during the pre-commissioning and startup phases;
• provide your expertise regarding technical issues encountered in the field.

🎯 THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Senior profile, immediately operational in a complex industrial site environment.

You have at least 8 years of relevant field experience, with demonstrated experience in:

• LOTO / industrial lockout;
• pre-commissioning and commissioning;
• Oil & Gas and/or Industrial Gases environment;
• HSE and industrial safety;
• site supervision;
• management of subcontractors;
• piping;
• LV/MV electrical lockouts;
• instrumentation.

You have already created, executed, or audited LOTO dossiers and know how to manage complex isolation perimeters.

🌍 BILINGUAL ENGLISH REQUIRED

The position is part of an international project environment.

A bilingual level in English is therefore required to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, use documentation, and participate in the project's technical exchanges.

Experience gained with a major player in industrial gases will be particularly appreciated.

Experience on projects related to hydrogen, electrolyzers, or large-scale industrial construction and startup projects will also be a real plus.

🦺 ABOVE ALL, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FIELD PROFILE

This position does not consist of managing safety from an office.

You must love being on the construction site, in contact with the installations and the teams.

Read a diagram. Identify an isolation boundary. Control a lockout. Participate in a Line Walk. Exchange with instrumentation. Challenge an external company. Resolve a problem before startup.

👉 It is this combination of technical expertise, safety culture, and field presence that we are looking for.

🌱 AN INDUSTRIAL PROJECT FOCUSED ON RENEWABLE HYDROGEN

You will join a large-scale industrial project dedicated to the construction of an electrolyzer of at least 200 MW, intended for renewable hydrogen production in Normandy.

An opportunity to put your experience with large sites and commissioning at the service of a particularly ambitious industrial project.
