Metrology R&D Engineer

Are you passionate about advanced inspection and measurement techniques within a high-tech environment? For a globally leading research center active in nano-electronics, chip technology, and digital innovations, we are looking for a Metrology R&D Engineer for a temporary assignment.

In this role, you will be part of an innovative research environment where groundbreaking technologies for the semiconductor industry are being developed. You will contribute to the support of advanced research projects within a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment.

As a Metrology R&D Engineer, you are responsible for the execution and support of inspection and metrology activities within various research projects. You act as a technical point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and actively contribute to the further development of measurement methodologies and data analysis processes.

Your responsibilities:

• Operating advanced e-beam inspection and metrology systems within the cleanroom environment.
• Supporting research programs by developing measurement recipes, collecting data, and performing analyses.
• Acting as a technical point of contact between customers, process engineers, and integration teams.
• Organizing and maintaining project documentation via SharePoint.
• Developing Best-Known Methods (BKMs) for the offline analysis of SEM images.
• Managing and keeping existing analysis methods and procedures up to date.
• Reporting project results and progress during review and project meetings.
• Actively contributing to process improvements and knowledge building within the research team.
• You have obtained a master's degree in Applied Sciences, Materials Science, Electronics, or a similar technical field.
• You possess at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience within a high-tech or cleanroom environment.
• You have hands-on experience with metrology or inspection techniques.
• Experience with CD-SEM, SEM, or e-beam systems is a significant asset.
• You are analytically strong and work accurately and structured.
• You take initiative and combine a proactive attitude with a strong desire to learn.
• You feel comfortable in an innovative and rapidly changing research environment.
• You are flexible and resilient when facing new challenges and changing priorities.
• You possess strong communication skills and communicate fluently in English.
• You enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and international stakeholders.
