Asst Production Manager
Your tasks
ROLE PURPOSE This role owns the CNC machining floor — Swiss-type / CNC automatic lathes, CNC lathes and VMC milling — producing high-precision turned and milled parts for HDD/SSD and automotive customers. The Assistant Production Manager takes full accountability for output, delivery, quality and monthly targets across all running parts and new products, and must be a hands-on CNC machining expert who can solve problems at the machine, not only from the office. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES CNC Machining Process & Technical Ownership ●Own CNC process capability across turning, auto lathe (Swiss-type) and milling lines — machining process, setup standards, tooling, fixturing and cutting conditions. ●Review and optimize CNC programs (G-code) with Engineering: tool paths, feeds/speeds, tool sequence and setup to cut cycle time and improve stability. ●Control precision at the machine: micron-level tolerances, in-process gauging, tool offset / wear compensation and first-piece approval after every setup or tool change. ●Lead machining troubleshooting — dimensional drift, burrs, chatter, surface finish, tool breakage and machine alarms — together with Maintenance and Engineering. ●Run tool-life management and setup / changeover reduction to raise spindle utilization and lower tooling cost per part. Production Ownership & Delivery ●Own all daily production output for running parts and new products, accountable for hitting output, delivery and monthly targets, no exceptions. ●Set the pace on the floor. Identify bottlenecks, make the call, and move production forward. ●Drive stabilization and continuous improvement of existing CNC lines while simultaneously ramping new products to full volume. ●Manage the full handover of FA-approved new parts into mass production: define acceptance criteria (including machining Cpk), enforce them, and sign off only when stability is proven. Planning & Resource Control ●Plan and control manpower, CNC machine capacity, tooling and shift arrangements across all production lines with a forward-looking, proactive mindset. ●Make resourcing decisions decisively — adjust headcount, overtime and machine loading to protect delivery commitments. Performance & Productivity ●Drive measurable productivity improvements: CNC cycle time reduction, OEE / spindle utilization uplift, yield increase, scrap reduction and manpower efficiency (machines per operator). ●Establish clear KPIs for every line and supervisor under your charge; review them regularly and act on underperformance immediately. Quality & Customer Issues ●Own customer quality complaints and QA issues end-to-end. ●Lead containment, root cause analysis and corrective action — issues are solved on the floor, at the machine. ●Maintain IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 compliance on the production floor; prepare for audits; close non-conformances on time. People Leadership & Team Development ●Lead supervisors, setters and operators with strong, visible floor leadership. ●Develop CNC
