Tasks:

  • Calculate heating and cooling loads.
  • Design duct systems.
  • Manufacture and assemble different prefabricated fibreglass elements.
  • Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation.
  • Manufacture and assemble water evacuation systems for buildings.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements .
  • Select equipment for residential and small commercial construction.
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to template.
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces.
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification.
  • Instruct apprentices.
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand.
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts.
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses :

  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.

Air conditioning and refrigeration systems:

Ventilation.

Specialization or experience:

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

Security and safety:

  • Basic security clearance.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Driver's validity licence check.
  • Driving record check (abstract).
  • Drug test.

Transportation/travel information:

  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Own transportation.
  • Own vehicle.
  • Vehicle supplied by employer.
