As a Business Controller, you will be part of the management team, together with the national director and the regional managers. You will co-determine the financial course and performance of Norlandia, analyze financial and operational results, interpret deviations, and translate these into clear insights and concrete choices. In doing so, you will oversee the connection between occupancy, staff deployment, child planning, and yield, and actively drive the improvement of results.

You fulfill a central role in the Planning & Control cycle and, together with the Financial Controller, are responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and the annual tariff process. You ensure that these lead to targeted decision-making.

In close cooperation with regional managers, you drive results through monthly Business Reviews. You bring structure to the analyses, ask sharp questions, and support choices and business cases. Together with location managers, you strengthen data-driven management and the analysis of deviations. Additionally, you work with child planning on optimal occupancy and capacity utilization, as part of a healthy and predictable business operation.

You identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate these into improvements in processes, management information, and working methods. Using data and technology (such as AFAS, Power BI, and AI), you strengthen analyses and decision-making and respond to developments in the sector.

As a member of the MT, you are a critical, independent sparring partner and proactively contribute to organization-wide choices, where you also provide unsolicited advice and agenda relevant topics.

You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and know how to penetrate complex relationships and translate them into clear insights and concrete actions. You preferably have demonstrable experience as a Business Controller within childcare and understand the dynamics of the sector.

You work data-driven and are familiar with systems such as AFAS and Power BI. You actively follow and have an affinity for technological developments, including AI.

You are decisive, proactive, and take ownership. You ask sharp questions, work in a structured manner, and move easily within all layers of the organization. In doing so, you combine professionalism with an accessible, informal style and have a good sense of what is happening.

In an international environment, you quickly feel at home and switch effortlessly in English.

Additionally, you possess:

A completed hbo or wo education in Finance, Bedrijfseconomie or a similar field

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Controller within childcare

Strong business insight and the ability to identify opportunities and connections
