At Nita Lake Lodge, we deliver elevated, personalized guest experiences?and our Banquets team plays a key role in bringing those moments to life. We are seeking a *Banquet Captain* who is a confident leader, highly organized, and passionate about delivering seamless, high-quality events.

*About the Role*

Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Captain is responsible for leading the on-floor execution of weddings, conferences, private dinners, and other special events at Nita Lake Lodge.

You will provide hands-on leadership to the Banquets team throughout each event, ensuring service standards, timing, presentation, and guest experience are consistently delivered at a high level.

Working closely with the Banquet Manager, Culinary team, and other Food & Beverage leaders, you will help ensure each event runs smoothly from setup through service and breakdown.

*What You?ll Be Responsible For*

• Lead and supervise Banquet team members during event setup, service, and breakdown
• Review event details and function requirements with the Banquet Manager and team prior to service
• Coordinate timing and event flow between Banquets, Culinary, Bar, and other operational teams
• Ensure event spaces are set and presented according to event requirements and Nita Lake Lodge standards
• Provide clear direction, task assignments, and ongoing support to the Banquet team throughout events
• Act as an on-floor point of contact for clients and guests during events
• Anticipate guest needs and respond to concerns promptly and professionally
• Support the training, coaching, and development of Banquet team members
• Monitor service standards, cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout events
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with food safety, health, and workplace safety requirements
• Support event closing procedures, documentation, billing accuracy, and reporting as required
• Communicate event feedback, operational concerns, and follow-up items to the Banquet Manager
• Perform other Banquet and Food & Beverage duties as required to support successful events

*What You Bring*

• 3+ years of banquet, event, or high-volume food & beverage service experience
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or captain experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of banquet and food & beverage service standards
• Confident leadership style with the ability to provide clear direction to a team
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional while managing multiple priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Serving It Right certification required
• FoodSafe certification required
• First Aid certification considered an asset

*Additional Details*

This role requires a flexible schedule based on our event calendar, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The position is active and hands-on, requiring extended periods of standing and walking, regular event setup and breakdown, and the ability to lift and carry up to *50 lbs.*
