Senior Kitchen Technician

We are looking for a capable and trustworthy Senior Kitchen Technician to join our team in Doha, Qatar and ensure everything runs smoothly in the kitchen. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances to keep our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance on all refrigeration equipment, including walk-in freezers and coolers.
• Identify and resolve problems with temperature control, compressors, leaks, and other refrigeration system failures.
• Repair and replace malfunctioning parts for refrigeration systems.
• Keep cold rooms clean and hygienic while adhering to safety and health requirements.
• Ensure cold rooms operate efficiently to reduce energy use.
• Install, maintain, and repair ovens, fryers, grills, ranges, and other cooking appliances.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with culinary appliances, both gas and electric.
• Calibrate thermostats and ensure temperature controls are operating correctly.
• Continuously assess and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Repair leaks and maintain copper piping systems connected to kitchen appliances.
• Install new copper piping for equipment when required.
• Ensure plumbing rules and regulations are followed.
• Undertake preventative maintenance on all kitchen appliances to avoid malfunctions.
• Troubleshoot and fix minor electrical problems with kitchen equipment (excluding major electrical systems).
• Replace broken parts to ensure equipment operates safely and effectively.
• Maintain a tidy and well-organized workspace.
• Reduce kitchen downtime and respond quickly to equipment emergencies.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a kitchen technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of the upkeep, repair, and operation of refrigeration systems.
• Familiarity with refrigerated rooms and hygiene standards.
• Understanding of the features and functions of various kitchen appliances.
• Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Knowledge of copper plumbing systems for kitchen use is preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
