About the company

This is an opportunity for an experienced warehouse leader to play an influential role during a major period of operational change and investment.

Your tasks

Based in Newton Aycliffe, you will lead a warehouse team within a fast-paced, multi-shift environment, helping to establish consistent standards, improve performance and support the transition into a new automated facility. The position combines hands-on operational leadership with the opportunity to shape processes, develop people and introduce more effective ways of working.

You will:

  • Lead, engage and develop colleagues across warehouse operations
  • Deliver strong performance across safety, quality, productivity and service
  • Create consistent standards, behaviours and working practices across shifts
  • Use operational data to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities
  • Support the introduction of new systems, processes and automation
  • Improve warehouse flow, stock accuracy and labour utilisation
  • Champion practical continuous improvement through Gemba walks, Kaizen activity and structured problem-solving
  • Coach team leaders and build future leadership capability
  • Provide operational cover across different shifts when required

Requirements

You will bring warehouse, distribution or manufacturing leadership experience, together with the credibility to engage teams through change.

You will be a visible and approachable leader who can challenge established thinking constructively, make evidence-based decisions and turn improvement ideas into measurable results. Experience of Lean methodologies, WMS platforms, warehouse automation, Excel or data visualisation would be advantageous.

How to apply

If you want to lead from the floor while helping to shape a growing, future-focused operation, we would welcome a conversation.

Other

The shift structure includes early, daytime and weekend patterns, so flexibility is important.
