The Opportunity We are supporting a large, complex public sector organisation in the North East with the appointment of a Strategic Finance Business Partner into its senior finance team.
Your tasks
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public sector finance professional to take on a highly visible role, working closely with senior leaders and helping shape financial planning, performance and decision-making across the organisation.
You will help lead the development of a modern, proactive finance business partnering approach, providing strategic advice, constructive challenge and financial leadership across a range of services.
- Leading and developing the organisation’s finance business partnering approach
- Providing strategic financial advice and challenge to senior stakeholders
- Supporting services to strengthen financial performance and long-term sustainability
- Overseeing financial monitoring, forecasting and financial governance
- Building trusted relationships with senior leaders and service directors
- Providing robust financial input into key decisions, business cases and reports
- Supporting transformation, improvement and major change programmes
- Deputising for the senior leadership of the Financial Planning & Business Partnering function when required
Requirements
The Person We are looking for a CCAB-qualified accountant with strong public sector finance experience and the credibility to operate effectively with senior stakeholders.
You will be a collaborative and influential finance leader with strong technical capability and the confidence to challenge constructively. You will also have the ability to build effective relationships across a complex organisation and use financial insight to support better strategic decision-making.
