The role

As Shift Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading a production shift, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee a team of Line Leaders and Operatives, driving performance across a broad range of operational, safety and people-focused KPIs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strong leadership on health, safety and food safety.
  • Driving production performance and achievement of operational plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer, technical and quality requirements.
  • Leading workforce planning, recruitment, training and development activities.
  • Conducting gap analysis and implementing development plans to upskill teams.
  • Monitoring key metrics including safety, quality, training compliance, labour availability and service performance.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in processes, equipment, training and documentation.
  • Managing, motivating and developing a team to achieve operational excellence.

The candidate

We are looking for a proven leader from a food manufacturing environment who is passionate about building high-performing teams and driving operational success. You will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Shift Manager or similar leadership position within food, chemical, pharma or packaging manufacturing.
  • Strong people management skills with a track record of coaching, developing and engaging teams.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
  • Effective planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen management and hazard analysis.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This is a permanent day shift position working 6am - 6pm on a Panama shift pattern.
