The Opportunity: Personal Assistant to the Strategic Leadership Team

Location: Brighouse Contract: Maternity cover, duration to be confirmed Salary: £24,692.71 to £28,093.21 actual salary FTE Salary: £26,824 to £30,518 Hours: 37 hours per week, term-time only plus three weeks

We are recruiting an experienced and highly organised Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a busy Strategic Leadership Team within an education and charitable Foundation. This is a varied and responsible maternity-cover position requiring excellent organisational skills, professionalism and discretion. You will work closely with senior leaders, managing complex diaries, coordinating meetings and projects, preparing professional documents and supporting effective communication across the organisation. The successful candidate will be proactive, adaptable and confident working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing complex calendars, appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Preparing agendas, meeting materials and accurate minutes.
  • Monitoring actions, deadlines and project deliverables.
  • Managing and prioritising emails, correspondence and telephone calls.
  • Drafting and formatting reports, presentations, briefings and professional correspondence.
  • Maintaining secure electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Using SharePoint to organise, manage and share documents and information.
  • Coordinating activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of meetings, conferences, strategy days, training sessions and Foundation events.
  • Coordinating logistics, including venues, catering, invitations, resources and technology.
  • Acting as a professional first point of contact for the Strategic Leadership Team.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and ways of working.
  • Using Canva, AI and other digital tools appropriately to create professional materials and improve administrative efficiency.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a PA, Executive Assistant or senior administrative position.
  • Strong diary, inbox and meeting-management skills.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management.
  • Experience preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up actions.
  • Strong written communication and document-production skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, SharePoint and digital systems.
  • The ability to produce high-quality reports, presentations and briefing materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • The confidence to communicate professionally with senior leaders and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently, anticipate requirements and use initiative.
  • Discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Flexibility and resilience when responding to changing priorities.
  • Experience within education, charity, care or a similarly regulated setting would be beneficial, although candidates from other sectors with strong senior-level PA or Executive Assistant experience are also encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:15pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break. Friday: 8:30am to 2:30pm, with no break. Occasional flexibility will be required to support events, urgent tasks and changing operational requirements
