MS Dynamics Developer

Company

An established, large-scale organisation in Newcastle is investing significantly in its digital capability and is looking to appoint an MS Dynamics 365 Developer to join its in-house technology team. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants to move away from short-term client engagements and take genuine ownership of a Dynamics environment. You’ll have the opportunity to build, improve and support solutions over the long term, seeing how your work develops as the organisation’s requirements evolve. The role offers hybrid working, typically with two to three days per week on site in Newcastle, alongside the benefits, stability and development opportunities associated with a major employer.

Role

This is a hands-on Dynamics 365 position sitting within a broader software development environment. You’ll take a key role in the development, configuration and ongoing improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365, working closely with users and technical colleagues to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and configuring solutions within Dynamics 365
• Understanding user requirements and translating these into practical technical solutions
• Customising and extending the Dynamics platform
• Supporting integrations between Dynamics and other business systems
• Working with APIs, interfaces and organisational data
• Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Contributing to solution design, testing and documentation
• Working collaboratively with software developers and other technical specialists
• Helping shape the longer-term development and roadmap of the Dynamics environment
• Developing your technical capabilities across the wider Microsoft technology stack

Although Dynamics is at the heart of the position, the organisation is particularly interested in someone who is comfortable working in a technical environment. Experience with C#, .NET, Azure, APIs or wider Microsoft development technologies would therefore be valuable. You don’t need to be a pure .NET Software Engineer, but you should be technically minded and willing to broaden your development skills.

Person

The key requirement is strong existing knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365. Ideally, you’ll bring some combination of:

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Experience configuring, customising or developing Dynamics solutions
• A good technical understanding of how Dynamics fits into a wider technology environment
• Experience of integrations, APIs and interfaces
• Exposure to C# and/or .NET, or a genuine appetite to develop these skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or the wider Microsoft technology stack
• An understanding of secure, robust and scalable solution development
• The ability to work directly with stakeholders and understand business requirements
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• An interest in taking long-term ownership of solutions rather than simply delivering a project and moving on
