Your tasks
Position Summary Niche Bakers is seeking safety-conscious and dependable Warehouse Operators to support warehouse receiving and shipping operations. The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, loading, and unloading of bakery products, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production activities, and ensuring customer orders are shipped on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report maintenance concerns
- Load and unload trailers, trucks, and containers efficiently and accurately
- Safely and accurately place materials in required storage locations
- Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods between warehouse and production areas
- Stage and load products for shipment according to customer orders and shipping schedules
- Verify quantities, lot codes, and product information against shipping and receiving documentation
- Maintain accurate inventory records through warehouse management systems and RF scanners
- Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO procedures
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities
- Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean and organized
- Follow food safety, HACCP, GMP, and health and safety requirements at all times
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist other warehouse functions as required
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Safety first mindset
- Valid forklift certification for Reach, counter balance, dockstocker and walkie
- Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or food production facility. Preferable in a freezer environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse scanning systemsStrong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Comfortable working in warehouse environments with varying temperatures, including freezer (-20) and cooler environments
- Ability to safely operate equipment throughout a full shift
