About the role Maverick is seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails developer with a clear fullstack profile and a strong sense for modern frontend interfaces. You will work on consulting assignments for our customers in both the private and public sectors, where you will build scalable digital solutions from idea to implementation. The role involves developing, improving, and optimizing everything from existing systems to entirely new products. You will work closely with customers and colleagues in cross-functional teams where your ability to collaborate, communicate, and translate needs into technical solutions is just as important as your coding competence.

Tasks As a Ruby on Rails developer at Maverick, you will work on varied assignments, both on-site at customer locations and in internal projects. You will develop and further develop services for businesses within sectors such as fintech, e-commerce, industry, transport, energy, and the public sector.

Your tasks include developing and maintaining Rails applications, creating modern and responsive frontend interfaces, designing APIs, optimizing performance, and ensuring robust and secure solutions. You will work in teams alongside designers, strategists, and other developers – but are also comfortable taking responsibility independently.

The work is primarily hybrid or remote, but some assignments may require presence at the customer site.

• Have at least 5 years of experience in Ruby on Rails development
• Are confident in the fullstack role and have good experience with modern frontend (e.g., JavaScript, SCSS, Stimulus, Turbo or similar)
• Have experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and technologies like Redis, ElasticSearch or similar
• Are accustomed to working with CI/CD, testing, and version control
• Have worked in agile teams and feel comfortable in a consulting role
• Communicate clearly in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

Meritorious:

• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, or modern component-based frontend
• Experience working in larger, complex codebases
• Interest in performance optimization, security, and architectural issues
