As the Corporation's primary OH&S resource, the incumbent will provide guidance and support to safety officers, managers and employees, in fulfilling their legislated responsibilities as prescribed by the OH&S Act of Newfoundland and Labrador. This position will work with safety officers to develop safe work practices as required based on job hazard assessments. The incumbent will conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and develop and deliver training that cannot be outsourced. The incumbent will ensure all workplace incidents are reported to WorkplaceNL in accordance with legislation, regulations and reporting requirements. The incumbent will be an active member of the emergency management committee and will act as the lead fire warden chairing the Fire Warden Committee. The position will monitor OH&S performance through data analysis of incident, injury and illness to enable the provision of quarterly and annual reports. The incumbent is also responsible for OH&S programs related to safety orientation.
