We are looking for a

Purchaser – Component Manager (m/f/d)

for our calculation team to start as soon as possible.

As a global player and part of a large, international corporate group, we offer our customers tailor-made solutions for the entire product lifecycle, from product development to customer service. With nearly 160 employees, we produce electronic assemblies, devices, and systems for the automotive, industry, and measurement technology sectors at our plant in Saarland.

Your contribution You pursue the goal of creating high-performance offers by taking your own competencies into account in order to win new customers and projects. You possess sound knowledge of components, are familiar with the procurement market for electronic components, and passionately negotiate prices and conditions with manufacturers and suppliers. You enjoy working in a team, but also know how to complete tasks within the bidding process independently, efficiently, and on schedule. You coordinate project meetings with your own team as well as connected specialist departments (Purchasing, Engineering, Quality), monitor the progress of defined actions, and intervene with corrective measures in case of deviations.

Your tasks

• Collaboration in the calculation team to create offers for new customers with new products, for existing customers, and for relocations within the Neways Group
• Checking inquiry documents for completeness
• Supplier selection for price inquiries
• Inquiring and negotiating prices and conditions for electronic components and other components with manufacturers and suppliers, as well as prices for new machines, assembly lines, etc., with the corresponding specialist departments
• Searching for alternative components or suppliers in the event of supply bottlenecks
• Consolidating all material prices in the material calculation sheet to create product calculations and offers for the customer
• Master data creation in component databases (PLM) and in the ERP system (Infor)
• Initial procurement of components and parts as well as master data maintenance
• Close cooperation with the departments of Strategic Purchasing, Operational Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, and Quality.
• Supporting the customer on purchasing topics (prices, availability, etc.)

Your profile

• Technical degree, e.g., Electrical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Production Technology, or similar, or training with a comparable qualification
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Confident and friendly appearance, ability to work in a team, independent way of working
• Communication and persuasion skills, organizational ability
• Negotiation skills and assertiveness
• A strong understanding of quality
• Very good knowledge of the procurement market for electronic components
• Very good IT skills (MS Office), ERP system
