IT Network Project Engineer

The client is a team of IT professionals specializing in network design, infrastructure cabling, GPON consultancy, and project management. They serve sectors including defense, aviation, medical, hospitality, finance, and telecommunications across Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.

Your tasks

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Network Project Engineer to support network infrastructure projects on a contract basis, delivering effective design, implementation, optimization, and vendor management.

• Design enterprise network solutions to meet client requirements and optimize performance
• Implement network infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery
• Optimize existing network systems to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Manage vendor relationships to coordinate procurement, installation, and support services
• Execute project plans with clear milestones, risk management, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business objectives

Project Execution & Coordination

• Lead and execute network projects including migrations, upgrades, integrations, and rollouts.
• Develop project plans, timelines, status reports, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and project sponsors to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

Network Security & Compliance

• Assist in configuring and maintaining firewall policies and network access controls.
• Conduct security assessments and provide remediation recommendations.
• Support incident response for network-related security events.

Monitoring & Support

• Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.
• Provide Level 3 troubleshooting and escalation support.
• Maintain topology diagrams, configuration documentation, and procedures.

Requirements

Required

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Network Project Engineer.
• Proficient with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP).
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise platforms.
• Strong understanding of firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, etc.).
• Experience managing vendors, procurement processes, and outsourced technical work.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of structured cabling systems, fibre optics, and network connectivity.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit and telecom design software.

Preferred

• Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent.
• Experience with SD‑WAN, cloud networking (Azure/AWS), or automation tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices.
