The Opportunity

The EDF group is about to make history with the largest global investment in EPR2 technology. As we advance the HPC project in the United Kingdom, France is ready to lead the way with the construction of six state-of-the-art reactors in Penly, Gravelines, and Bugey in the coming years. Through our Project Bridge initiative, we promote international skill transfers between the United Kingdom and France.

The VIE offers a unique opportunity for recently graduated technicians to join the largest construction site in Europe and acquire the necessary skills to help us with the construction of EPR2s in France.

You will be immersed in the HPC project for 1 year, directly on-site. After this year, the goal is to offer you an opportunity to join EDF in France on the EPR2 project in Penly or Gravelines. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a program that allows you to develop skills that you can transpose to EPR2 projects.

About HPC

HPC is the construction site of 2 nuclear reactors, the first of a new generation of nuclear power plants in the United Kingdom, which will provide low-carbon electricity to approximately six million homes!

Your Missions:

You will be integrated into the JDO MEH team based at the Hinkley Point C site.

In this context, you will:

Support engineering teams in the technical monitoring of electrical systems on the HPC project, particularly during the construction and commissioning phases;

Analyze and process technical issues, non-conformities, and modification requests issued by MEH contractors, in coordination with the design teams;

Ensure the compliance of electrical installations (cabling, routing, grounding, power supply) with nuclear safety requirements and design rules;

Contribute to the preparation of work packs, the monitoring of electrical work progress on-site, and the interface with commissioning activities;

Participate in the identification and resolution of technical risks to ensure the continuity and performance of construction activities.

Remuneration, Benefits, and Culture

Your salary is determined by Business France. You will benefit from a housing allowance (rent + local tax) of up to £1,050 per month. Your travel expenses to start and end your contract (flights only) are covered, as well as your VISA fees. At EDF, everyone is welcome. Who are we looking for?

Profile sought Degree and eligibility criteria:

Holder of a Bac +3 in electricity, electrical systems, I&C, energy, or an equivalent discipline.

Applications with a degree lower or higher than Bac +3 will not be considered.

You have knowledge in routing, connecting, and notions in Electricity.

You are attracted to working on a construction site.

You possess an analytical mind, an ability to understand technical issues, and to identify solutions.

You have communication skills and are comfortable coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Minimum English level B2, allowing you to operate effectively in an international environment.
