About the role

Who are we?

NCBIS is the leading British international, not-for-profit school in Egypt. We are an authorised IB World School.

We have more than 60 nationalities represented among 750 students aged 3–18. The student population is made up of 60% expatriate and 40% Egyptian students who must have dual nationality.

NCBIS is renowned for the excellence of its educational programmes, which include a strong CAS element throughout the school, and for its welcoming learning environment. The school is fully accredited by CIS, and we are members of COBIS and BSME.

Primary school at NCBIS follows a bespoke international curriculum which is based on the National Curriculum for England. We are recognised by the International Baccalaureate as an IB World School and use methodologies including project-based and inquiry-based learning to support our young learners.

The Dutch stream at NCBIS offers bilingual education in the Dutch and English languages, teaching the Dutch curriculum as stipulated by the Dutch Ministry of Education. We are in close contact with the foundation for Dutch Education Abroad (Stichting NOB) which supports us with advice and information.

The secondary school, Year 10 and Year 11 students work towards the GCSE/IGCSE examination qualifications. This provides them with a comprehensive mix of core subjects such as English, mathematics, and science along with options in the humanities, computer science, languages, the arts and physical education. Sixth Form students (Year 12 and Year 13) study either the UK A-Levels programme or the IB Diploma Programme; these are two different routes that are taught in Years 12 and 13.

Where is the NCBIS community?

We are located in New Cairo, a quiet and tranquil area to the east of central Cairo. Small class sizes contribute to our sense of family and enable us to give all our students the attention they require.
