About the Role
Neutron is looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our consulting team and work on a Singapore public sector digital project. You will be placed with a government agency team to design citizen and staff facing digital services that are simple, accessible and easy to use. You will work closely with agency stakeholders, product owners and engineers through the full product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead user research with agency officers and FI users through interviews, workshops and usability testing, and turn what you learn into clear user journeys and requirements.
- Design complete workflows for scheme applications, Annual Return Reporting (ARR), renewals, terminations and multilevel approvals.
- Design complex forms, case management screens and dashboards for both officers and FIs, keeping data heavy screens simple and easy to scan.
- Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes and high fidelity UI in Figma. Run Miro workshops with agency stakeholders to align on flows and priorities.
- Keep a consistent design system that follows the Singapore Government Design System (SGDS), the Digital Service Standards (DSS) and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility.
- Work closely with the ReactJS frontend engineers on handover and design QA, so the built product matches the intended experience.
- Join sprint planning, backlog grooming and sprint reviews, and present design decisions to agency stakeholders with confidence.
- Guide and review the work of junior designers or engineers on UX best practices when needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of UI/UX design experience, with a portfolio that shows complete, real world work on complex web applications.
- Strong experience designing workflow, case management or approval based systems, ideally in government, financial services or regulated environments.
- Proven track record in user research and usability testing, with clear examples of research changing a design.
- Expert in Figma, including component libraries, auto layout and prototyping. Comfortable with Miro, Jira and Confluence.
- Good understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum teams. Dual Track Agile or a product discovery background is a plus.
- Confident communicator who can run workshops and manage senior client stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Experience on Singapore government or public sector projects.
- Familiarity with SGDS, DSS and GovTech practices.
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
