Technical Writer

You will join the Documentation Team and work on machines with a value of up to approximately €10 million per installation. Within the organization, an important digitalization process is currently underway, where traditional, paper documentation is being converted into digital documentation supported by 3D models and technical illustrations.

We are therefore not looking for a classic draftsman or designer, but someone who understands mechanical engineering and has experience in independently drafting technical manuals.

Your responsibilities

As a Technical Writer, you will collect, analyze, and structure technical information and convert it into clear and user-friendly documentation.

Your tasks include, among others:

• Drafting, adapting, and managing technical manuals and user documentation
• Translating complex mechanical information into clear instructions for operators, technicians, and other end users
• Converting existing, partially paper-based documentation into a modern digital documentation structure
• Working with 3D models and technical drawings to make procedures and parts visually understandable
• Creating and adapting technical illustrations in Creo Illustrate
• Interpreting mechanical drawings, assemblies, and technical information
• Collaborating with engineering and other technical disciplines to collect and verify the correct information
• Monitoring the technical correctness, clarity, and consistency of the documentation
• Updating existing manuals when machines, components, or procedures change

In this role, you are responsible for the documentation and visualization, not for the mechanical design of the machines themselves.

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Elektromechanica, Werktuigbouwkunde or a comparable technical field
• Demonstrable experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Author, or Technical Documentation Engineer within a technical environment
• Concrete experience with drafting technical manuals/manuals – this is an important requirement
• Good mechanical knowledge that allows you to understand complex machines, components, and drawings
• Experience with Creo Illustrate is a strong asset and preferably already present
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar technical software may also be relevant
• Affinity with 3D models and digital technical documentation
• The ability to present complex technical information logically, visually, and understandably
• An accurate, structured, and independent way of working
• Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
