An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Treasury Accountant to join a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Bournemouth on an initial 3-month contract. This is a key finance position within the organisation, ideally suited to an individual with strong treasury or transactional finance experience, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of cash management, banking processes, reconciliations, and financial controls. The business operates within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has built a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and continued growth. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure effective management of the company’s cash position, banking activities, and treasury processes. This role would be particularly well suited to an experienced Treasury Accountant or finance professional who is available at short notice and can quickly make an impact within a busy finance function.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing day-to-day treasury activities and ensuring effective cash management across the business
  • Monitoring daily cash balances and forecasting short- and medium-term cash requirements
  • Managing banking transactions, payments, receipts, and transfers
  • Preparing and maintaining regular cash flow forecasts and reporting
  • Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Monitoring incoming and outgoing payments to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time
  • Supporting the management of the company’s banking relationships and resolving any banking queries
  • Assisting with the preparation of treasury and cash management reports for senior management
  • Monitoring foreign currency transactions and supporting the management of associated currency exposures where required
  • Ensuring treasury processes and financial controls are followed consistently
  • Supporting month-end close activities, including treasury-related journals and reconciliations
  • Investigating unusual or outstanding transactions and ensuring these are resolved promptly
  • Working closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable and wider finance teams to maintain accurate cash and banking records
  • Identifying opportunities to improve treasury processes, controls, and reporting
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and support to the wider finance team as required

What You Will Need to Apply:

  • Previous experience within a treasury or cash management-focused finance role
  • Strong understanding of cash management, bank reconciliations, and payment processes
  • Experience preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial data
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience working with finance or ERP systems
  • Good understanding of financial controls and accounting processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the finance function
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or other commercially focused business would be advantageous
  • A relevant accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT, or equivalent experience, would be advantageous

What You Will Receive in Return:

A competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum (pro rata) is available for the successful candidate, depending on experience. This is an initial 3-month contract, offering an excellent opportunity to join an established manufacturing business in Bournemouth and make an immediate contribution to its finance function. The successful candidate will work within a supportive and commercially focused finance team, gaining valuable exposure to treasury, cash management, and wider financial operations.
