Technician in plant in vitro culture and transformation (M/F)

We are looking for a highly motivated technician specialized in the in vitro culture and transformation of plants to join our "Plants and transformation" team and help us take our most ambitious R&D project to the next level: the transformation and regeneration of our improved plants. The ideal candidate must demonstrate great scientific rigor and be comfortable managing many parallel tasks. He/she must also be meticulous and very attentive to detail, as from day one, he/she will be working on a crucial workstream to obtain results within demanding deadlines.

Main mission (but not limited to):

• Perform in vitro culture of various crops, model, and ornamental plants.
• Perform general laboratory tasks: preparation of media and reagents.
• Transform monocot and dicot ornamental plants.
• Regenerate fully transgenic plants from transformed callus.
• Report progress and challenges to the team.

Prerequisites:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, DUT - in biology with more than 2 years of experience.
• Experience in in vitro culture and regeneration of plant tissues or cells.
• Extreme scientific rigor and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously with little or no supervision.
• Team spirit, good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good understanding of English.

Valued assets:

• Experience in plant transformation
• Experience with non-model plant species
• Experience in basic molecular biology techniques
