System Safety Engineer for advanced UAV

We are looking for a System Safety Engineer for a product-oriented assignment within unmanned helicopter systems and aerospace engineering. The role is suitable for you who want to work closely with system engineers, requirements, analysis, and design in a technically complex environment where safety is a central part of the entire product lifecycle. About the assignment:

The assignment is located within Product & Compliance and concerns system safety for a complete helicopter system. The work is carried out on a project basis and takes place in close cooperation with several material groups and technical disciplines within the organization.

The environment is advanced, product-oriented, and international, with connections to unmanned aviation systems for, among other things, maritime, military, and critical infrastructure applications. The client has its technical base in Linköping.

You will, among other things:

Review system safety work based on established requirements.

Perform various types of system safety analyses.

Identify safety-critical functions and components.

Develop system safety requirements.

Support system engineers in the design work to ensure that safety requirements are met.

Contribute to the development of safety measures together with technical specialists.

Document analyses, requirements, and decisions in a clear and structured manner.

We are looking for you who:

Primarily, you have experience in system engineering work with a focus on System Safety, preferably from aerospace, defense, unmanned systems, or other safety-critical product development. You are accustomed to working in a structured manner with requirements, standards, analysis, and documentation.

Personality is important. You need to be collaborative, curious, meticulous, and confident in driving your work forward even when the issues require analysis and dialogue with several technical areas. Even a newly graduated engineer with the right understanding, strong drive, and clear potential may be relevant.

Your Profile

Relevant college or university education as an engineer.

Very good English in speech and writing.

Very good collaborative skills.

Structured, self-driven, and flexible way of working.

Swedish citizenship, as security clearance or security vetting may become relevant.

Merit:

A few years of experience in system engineering work with a focus on System Safety.

Experience working with standards.

Strong documentation skills.

Experience from the aerospace industry.

Experience with unmanned systems, UAV/UAS, or helicopter systems.

Previous experience from safety-critical or regulatory-driven product environments.

Security: Security clearance or security vetting may become relevant. Swedish citizenship is therefore a requirement.
