Job Description
As a Quantitative Trader, you will work closely with our quantitative research and engineering teams to monitor live systematic trading strategies, analyse trading performance and research new trading opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring live quantitative trading strategies and maintaining and improving the company’s internal trading monitoring systems.
- Analysing trading data and strategy performance, investigating unusual results or trading behaviour, and preparing daily performance reports.
- Monitoring market conditions, trading activity, positions and the operational performance of deployed strategies.
- Researching potential alpha signals using academic papers, market data and new data sources.
- Backtesting and evaluating trading ideas to assess their performance, robustness and suitability for live trading.
- Developing, testing and implementing reliable quantitative trading strategies based on research findings.
- Monitoring deployed strategies and identifying opportunities to improve their trading performance and reliability.
- Working closely with quantitative researchers and software engineers to investigate trading issues and improve strategy implementation.
- Maintaining clear records of research findings, strategy changes and trading-performance analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Quantitative Finance or another relevant quantitative discipline.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a good understanding of probability and statistics.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, backtesting and quantitative strategy development.
- Good understanding of programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, processes, concurrency and parallel programming.
- Experience with C++, Go or another programming language would be advantageous.
- Strong interest in financial markets, systematic trading, market behaviour and quantitative research.
- Relevant experience in quantitative trading, quantitative research, financial markets or strategy development would be advantageous.
- Ability to analyse trading data, investigate performance issues and communicate findings clearly.
- Self-motivated and committed to continuously developing technical, quantitative and market knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with research, engineering and trading colleagues across different locations.
