POSTAL OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (OMM)
You will serve as a POSTAL OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (OFFICE MAIL MANAGER) of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE.
Major duties
- You will issue and enforce mail policies to commands.
- You will analyze and track workload (volume/ type of mail), current mail handling procedures, and cost of operations, and assess the impact of additional workload on mail center operations.
- You will perform cost/benefit analysis and develop plans for installation /implementation of new postal equipment, systems, and procedures.
- You will monitor customer compliance with applicable mailing requirements and policies, identifies deficiencies, and works with customers to correct problems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring all postal operations comply with U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Department of Defense (DoD),and Department of Navy (DON) policies and regulations; 2) Negotiating with senior personnel at other local government agencies and activities to promote and expand mail consolidation efforts; 3) Analyze and track workload (volume/type of mail),current mail handling procedures, and cost of operations; 4) Analyzing overall mail operations and evaluate potential benefits/uses of automation to improve efficiency and impact on mail operations at supported customer activities, and 5) Overseeing mail processing and civilian/military/contractor personnel responsible for accomplishment of various postal duties.
