MATERIALS EXAMINER AND IDENTIFIER (FLO)

You will serve as a Materials Examiner and Identifier (FLO) of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.

Major duties

  • You will perform technical screening for a wide range of Depot Level Repairable (DLR) material, i.e. shipboard, squadrons, ground support, avionics and various other DLR equipment/components.
  • You will perform data entry/processing for the disposition of the material through using automated systems to produce stock receipts, transshipments, disposals, packing, shipment and all pertinent document preparation actions.
  • You will conduct research to answer inquiries and clear exceptions/errors generated from programs, systems, documentation preparations/actions, etc.
  • You will perform chemical tests employing appropriate safety measures.
  • You will be familiar with a wide range of materials and equipment as well as numerous procedures, required for product and equipment verification and have in-depth knowledge of depot warehousing and disposal procedures and plans.
  • You will be able to interpret complex equipment and subjective materials specifications when examining, identifying, and verifying incoming and outgoing materials.

Keeping records, logs, inventories, etc.; making reports. Ability to use arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc. Knowledge of storage, treatment, care. Knowledge of handling. Knowledge of loading. Ability to meet a time schedule, deadline, or emergency. 3. Ability to accept or reject items for conformance with requirements and to work productively in an inspection program. 4. Ability to teach procedures, principles, and knowledge related to trade and craft practices. 5. The ability to facilitate production using judgment and analysis in areas such as determining work time, preparing and implementing procedures, detecting bottlenecks, making and interpreting reports, keeping records, interpreting technical data, and making computations. 6. Ability to lead other workers or supervise subordinates; deal objectively and harmoniously with them; and render sound decisions.
