Major duties

  • You will evaluate work performance of subordinates; provides direction, advice, counsel, and instruction to subordinates on both technical and administrative matters.
  • You will lead capabilities and mission gap analysis efforts. Directs capabilities development to overcome identified operational needs and capabilities gaps. Conducts combat evaluation to overcome validated operational deficiencies.
  • You will coordinate with service and government laboratories and academia to assist with technology shortfalls and operational deficiencies.
  • You will direct program evaluation studies and development of new procedures to measure program accomplishments, results and effectiveness.
  • You will evaluate programs and requirements first-hand by observing and/or participating in exercises and training evolutions involving NSW Combatant-Craft, SWCCs and NSW equipment and personnel.
  • You will provide a wide range of substantive oral and written presentations, and reports to high-level officials, military and civilians, both within and outside the DoD.
  • You will provide technical direction to research and development, adaptive engineering, and combat development and combat investigation efforts being conducted at, by, or in support of NSW/ NSWG-4 surface maritime programs and initiatives.
  • You will work with CDRUSSOCOM, NSWCOM and NSWG-4 command leadership to develops strategic vision, executable and affordable strategies to address shortfalls.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading requirements definition, strategic planning, resourcing, and RDT&E (Research, Development, Test & Evaluation) for equipment, tactics, and/or procedures.
