SECURITY SPECIALIST

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SPECIAL SECURITY OFFICE (N01SSO) of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU.

Major duties

• You will determine requirements to support NSWDG special security operations based on standing orders, commander’s intent, estimates of the situation, and direction from the Security Officer and Deputy Security Officer.
• You will provide subject matter expertise in all areas of personnel security to resolve difficult or complex personnel security issues.
• You will manage, track, and report on security violations, infractions, and possible compromises to determine cause and potential damage to national security; determines responsibility.
• You will ensure proper classification, declassification, and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by NSWDG.
• You will provide day-today declassification and/or downgrading guidance, and reviews security classification guides to determine applicability.
• You will maintain security of NSWDG collateral, SCI, and Special Access Program (SAP) spaces and materials.
• You will conduct thorough indoctrinations and debriefings to ensure command members are keenly aware of all security requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in conducting onsite physical or industrial security inspections or assistance visits; assisting in the evaluation of findings and development of recommendations for changes, site surveys and physical security accreditations; AND assisting in all functions of developing and submitting Construction Security Plans or Modification Security Plans along with multi- layered security systems incorporating personnel access controls. Desired Skills: As a Security Specialist, your responsibilities may include: The incumbent will assist in SCIF/TSCIF/OSS construction plans from concept to accreditation and ensure ongoing accreditation maintenance throughout the facility's lifecycle. The incumbent will act as the primary point of contact for communicating with the Approving Authority and various key personnel necessary for running an effective Physical Security Program The incumbent will assist in OSS construction plans from concept to accreditation and ensure ongoing accreditation maintenance throughout the facility's lifecycle. The incumbent will act as the primary point of contact for communicating with various key personnel necessary for review/validation for DD 254s processing for contracts requiring access to information.

Education
