You will serve as a Program Assistant in the Fleet Services Branch, Advancement Execution & Support Division, Navy Advancement Center of NETPDC.

Major duties

  • You will respond to telephone, email, and fax inquiries on Navy-wide advancement exam ordering and correction of exam discrepancies.
  • You will independently determines the types and sources of program information required for reports, data gathering techniques, and the nature and extent of deviations from established requirements.
  • You will prepare, proofread, file, interpret, collect, photocopy, and distribute incoming and outgoing exam-related materials, including naval messages, official letters, and email.
  • You will review and evaluate examination results from advancement candidates to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • You will read and interpret technical computer reports and interpret information from NEAS and DLA computer reports to determine whether the computer system properly and effectively corrected a discrepancy.
  • You will process advancement and armed forces classification test answer sheets by verifying batch counts, maintaining log books, assessing errors, researching error causes and reprocessing exams into NEAS.
  • You will receive and handle orders of Navy-Wide Enlisted Advancement Examinations for five cycles annually.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Administering a web-based data management program; 2) Researching, correcting and maintaining records in a records management system (such as Navy Enlisted Advancement System(NEAS)); 3) Responding to email and call-center inquiries; 4) Utilizing computer software programs to prepare, format, and proofread correspondence, forms, and reports; and 5) Working within high volume mail-center and/or scan-center sorting, logging, and routing correspondence, and scanning, indexing, and verifying documents for quality and accuracy to meet established production and accuracy standards.
