STUDENT TRAINEE (ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROL HELPER)
DON Pathways Internship Program You will serve as a Student Trainee (Electronic Industrial Control Helper) in the Facility and Plant Maintenance Division, Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of Fleet Readiness Center East-Cherry Point.
Major duties
- You will demonstrate an aptitude for performing assigned work.
- You will receive close guidance from the supervisor or a higher graded worker when accomplishing assigned tasks.
- You will demonstrate ability to use most of the tools associated with the work/trade.
- You will perform tasks with several steps, exercising judgment to perform tasks in proper sequence.
- You will demonstrate the ability to achieve consistent results when performing the same tasks.
- You will work from plans, sketches, and detailed specifications and completion of routine tasks and adherence to instructions and accepted trade practices.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must currently be enrolled in school (or accepted for enrollment), at least half-time. This position has possible promotion potential. Advancement beyond the entry grade is not guaranteed and is contingent upon meeting all applicable qualification, education, and program requirements. This position may be non-competitively converted to a WG-08 position after meeting all regulatory requirements (including qualification requirements), and upon the recommendation of management. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Currently enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in a 2-year or 4-year college, university, graduate or professional school, that has been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the US Department of Education with enrollment hours at least half-time, as defined by the school in which enrolled.
