AIRCRAFT ENGINE REPAIRER

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Def Industrial Base Facilities & Major Range/Test Facilities Base in DoD. Major duties

• You will assemble gas turbines engines, various aircraft and gas turbine engine subassemblies and parts/ components.
• You will check disassembled parts for defects such as warping, under or overweight or for continuity of wiring harness.
• You will examine, evaluate, recondition and assemble subassemblies of limited variety such as assembling compressors or building up "hot" sections.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Resume did not effectively convey the ability to do the work / the skills of the Job Elements identified within the announcement showing the ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF An Aircraft Engine Repairer, WG-8602-08 without more than normal supervision such as: Performing routine disassembly and limited assembly of gas turbine aircraft engines, engine assemblies, accessories, and subassemblies using prescribed sequences, technical manuals, and established shop practices. Using hand and power tools, specialized jigs, electronic scales, continuity checkers, go/no-go gauges, and vernier calipers to inspect components for wear, foreign-object damage, stress fractures, warping, incorrect weight, and other defects. Determining component serviceability in accordance with technical specifications; reconditions, replaces, or routes unserviceable parts for repair or salvage; and tracks parts through automated systems. Maintaining strict compliance with NAVAIR, FRC, NAMP, quality assurance, tool-control, PPE, hazardous-material, and industrial-safety requirements while completing recurring tasks independently and supporting complex assembly operations under technical guidance, control, hazardous-material, and FOD-prevention requirements. Following supervisor, leader or higher graded employee's oral instruction on assembly/disassembly sequences and problem areas and ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification sheet when checking for parts damage or deterioration.
