POSITIONSBESCHREIBUNG
The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) operates in a technical authority role within the Command Group of the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO), collaborating closely with the Standards, Evaluation and Training Department (SET) within the Academic Directorate. Serving as the primary advisor to senior leadership on NATO quality assurance (QA) standards and accreditation, the incumbent manages all aspects of the NSO's Quality Management System (QMS), leads the organization's six-year (re)accreditation process, implements a collaborative NSO Survey System, and prepares the Annual QA Report for SACT HQ. Additionally, the QAM manages external quality audits as the primary point of contact, handling preparation, conflict resolution, and post-audit corrective actions. Finally, pending availability, the QAM supports subject-specific NATO QA courses as a Course Director or Subject Matter Expert—including residential courses and Mobile Education Training Team iterations—while assisting with broader SET department training programs.

REQUIREMENTS:
- English language skills at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference
- Experience in using common software/IT systems as well as in general office tasks
- Frequent business travel
- Working in the evenings, on weekends, and on German public holidays
- Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001
- Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the "NATO SECRET" level
- Proof of citizenship of a NATO member state

ABOUT US:
The NATO School Oberammergau in southern Germany is the most important training institution for NATO at the operational level. The school began in 1953 with two courses and today offers members and partners of the Alliance over 100 different courses on topics related to NATO politics, strategies, missions, and operations.
The school conducts multinational military training and education as well as individual training to support current and evolving NATO operations, strategies, policies, doctrines, and procedures. This includes cooperation, dialogue, and information exchange, as well as training and education for military and civilian personnel from non-NATO countries. Annually, more than 10,000 participants and conference attendees visit the school.
Since 1953, more than 200,000 officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilians have participated in the school's courses. Approximately 12,000 students and conference participants visit the school annually.
