Lead Emergency Management Specialist (Secondary)
This position is located in the Office of Secure Transportation, Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Operations Division (OD), Mission Support Branch (MSB), and serves as a Lead Emergency Management Specialist, providing guidance to six (6) Emergency Management Specialists on emergency operating procedures and oversight during emergency response activities.
Major duties
As a Lead Emergency Management Specialist (Secondary), you will: Operate the DOE/NNSA Advance Radio Enterprise System, and the Transportation Command and Control System to maintain continuous contact with enroute OST trips. Evaluate emergency situations, conduct emergency response operations, and provide OST Duty Officers and managers initial situation reports containing convoy strength, disposition, and activity, and provide enemy SALUTE reports. Manage a team and plan, prioritize, and assign work during emergency operations situations and response activities. Develop and implement emergency operating procedures, while planning and implementing assigned aspects of OST Emergency Management programs and projects and coordinating with other groups and individuals, as necessary. Provide aid and/or direction to duty officers, OST management and Federal Agents (FA) during emergency response activities in order to control events and secure facilities/assets, while maintaining liaison with agency representatives in order to provide guidance, share information and ideas. Responsible for a broad range of business management issues, including monitoring resources and reporting on budget and personnel status change/impact.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's Online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or grade in the Federal service, i.e. NQ-01 or GS-07 Level position. Qualifying specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience providing operational coverage and resolution when encountering emergency events. Experience developing and implementing emergency management program policies and initiatives. Examples of Specialized Experience: Providing operational coverage and resolution when encountering emergency events. Developing and implementing emergency management program policies and initiatives. Coordinating emergency preparedness or response activities with internal and external organizations, including participating in emergency training, drills, or exercises. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Requirements
Subject to Random Drug Testing Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Favorable suitability determination required. Financial Disclosure is required.
