Supervisory Grants Management Specialist
As the Supervisory Grants Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical and business activities of the Grants Administration Branch, coordinate unit activities, and supervise staff in the Grants Administration Branch.
Major duties
- Carries out the full range of supervisory responsibilities to include planning, assigning, and directing the work to be accomplished; reviewing the quality of results produced; setting priorities and time frames for completion of assignments; etc.
- Interprets and provides guidance on statutes, regulations, and procedures relating to grants in general and/or to specific complex grant applications or awarded grants.
- Provides expertise in the development and implementation of changes in policies and procedures and ensures a coordinated approach and consistent interpretation to grants management activities among the various programs.
- Directs efforts to maintain an effective system of internal controls, overseeing, designing, and/or conducting studies and analyses concerning the broader management aspects of grants and related activities.
- Evaluates the Institute’s grants management activities for adherence to established policies and procedures, and reviews grant awards to ensure compliance with Public Health Service (PHS) requirements.
- Exercises broad responsibility for planning, organizing, and coordinating all grants management activities of the Branch.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1.) Managing grants activities for an organization, including pre-award and post-award activities. 2.) Developing, interpreting, and providing guidance and technical assistance on grants regulations, policies, procedures, and techniques. 3.) Coordinating grants and awards planning and policy functions with other staff and organizations. AND 4.) Analyzing and evaluating grants management activities to identify and resolve complex administrative, policy, or compliance issues. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
