About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel (Disputes) to join an in-house legal team handling complex and high-impact contentious matters. This role is suited for lawyers who enjoy advocacy, structured legal analysis, and clear writing , and who are comfortable advising stakeholders on risk, strategy, and resolution options.

You will work on matters that require a broader, organisation-wide perspective, and strong performers can expect good progression and rotation opportunities into other legal functions over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of contentious matters , including pre-action strategy, negotiations/settlement, and court-related work where required
• Provide clear legal direction on case strategy , evidence approach, submissions strategy, and resolution pathways
• Instruct and manage external counsel (strategy, timelines, quality of pleadings/submissions, budgets)
• Advise internal stakeholders on dispute risk, escalation decisions, and practical options to achieve defensible outcomes
• Support investigations and dispute-related reviews where issues may lead to litigation exposure
• Build stronger internal capability through playbooks, guidance notes, and training on dispute avoidance and response

Requirements

• Excellent law degree and admission to the Singapore Bar
• Minimum 5 years PQE with strong disputes/litigation experience (civil/commercial)
• Excellent drafting and communication skills, able to simplify complex issues for non-legal stakeholders
• Analytical, independent, and self-motivated, with strong ownership of matters
• Collaborative team player who can operate across functions and manage sensitive issues with discretion
