Associate Professor (Tenured) of Philosophy

SoH is part of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS), which aims to be Asia’s leading centre for innovative, interdisciplinary Humanities, Arts and Social Science research and practice. SoH is developing a new Institute for AI Ethics in collaboration with the College of Computing and Data Science, and the successful candidate could be appointed co-director of this Institute and could be cross-appointed with the College of Computing and Data Science. The Department of Philosophy at NTU Singapore invites applications for a tenured appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Philosophy. We are hiring for multiple positions, with the aim of promoting the strategic development of NTU Philosophy. The areas of specialization are open for all positions. The NTU Philosophy Department offers a Major and Minor in Philosophy, and a postgraduate degree programme, with both MA and PhD students. Our degree programmes have a strong record of job placement. NTU philosophy faculty have particular strengths in ethics, Asian and comparative philosophy, and philosophy of science. Teaching and Supervision The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Philosophy. The candidate will supervise postgraduate research and contribute actively to mentoring students in Philosophy. Requirements A PhD in Philosophy or a related field

Evidence of strong scholarly promise and a developing publication profile

Demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student mentorship

Interest in collaborative, interdisciplinary, and internationally engaged research

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Recognition in the research community, such as invited talks, awards, or memberships in professional societies

Proven ability to secure research funding

Demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum development

A strong track record of supervising students, research staff, and/or postdocs, as well as mentoring junior faculty

Experience in leadership and/or service roles
