Development Engineer Molecular Beam Epitaxy (m/f/d) (Physicist)

• You will research exciting questions, such as the recording of vital signs and the monitoring of greenhouse gases, thus making an important contribution to current, socially relevant issues.
• As part of our experienced research team, you will be responsible for the epitaxial growth of semiconductor heterostructures in InP and GaAs material systems using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE).
• Your field of responsibility includes, among other things, the operation and maintenance of the MBE system, planning and implementation of sample series, characterization of grown samples using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS). Furthermore, you will be responsible for the electro-optical characterization of diode and quantum cascade lasers as well as the analysis of measurement data and will relate these back to design and process parameters.
• Your daily work is very versatile and includes work in cleanroom and laboratory environments as well as the preparation and internal company presentation of results.

Your Profile

Can you convince us professionally and personally?

• You have successfully completed a degree in Physics, Nanostructure Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable suitable degree. In doing so, you have acquired in-depth knowledge in the fields of epitaxy, crystallography, optoelectronics, semiconductor technology, or photonics.
• You have prior experience in the areas of epitaxy and/or other coating processes.
• Your English is proficient in spoken and written form.
• You have knowledge of Python, LabView, and OriginLab.
• You enjoy actively planning and implementing project steps independently with your own ideas.
