About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead our fabrication operations in Ikotun Lagos, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, with a strong focus on tank and trailer manufacturing. This role requires an individual who can drive efficiency, maintain stringent quality standards, and ensure timely delivery of products.

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities, ensuring efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Develop and implement production schedules to consistently meet and exceed production targets.
• Supervise all fabrication, welding, fitting, assembly, and finishing activities.
• Oversee the entire tank and trailer fabrication and production processes.
• Ensure accurate interpretation and rigorous implementation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and enforce fabrication quality, dimensional accuracy, welding standards, and finishing quality.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and other production resources effectively.
• Monitor production output, productivity, material wastage, and machine downtime to identify areas for improvement.
• Proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks to maintain workflow continuity.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
• Ensure strict compliance with all quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all fabrication equipment and machinery.
• Implement strategies to reduce material wastage, rework, and overall production costs.
• Continuously monitor and improve production efficiency and turnaround time.
• Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate production personnel, fostering a high-performance team.
• Ensure adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Actively promote a strong safety, quality, and productivity culture across the production floor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing/fabrication, with a significant portion in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Strong practical knowledge and extensive experience in tank and trailer fabrication is REQUIRED.
• Excellent knowledge of welding, cutting, bending, fitting, assembly, and general metal fabrication processes.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with various welding processes and advanced fabrication techniques.
• Demonstrated experience supervising welders, fabricators, fitters, and production operators.
• Good understanding of fabrication quality control, inspection, and testing procedures.
• Solid knowledge of production planning, cost control, and material management principles.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety requirements specific to a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 is a distinct advantage.
• Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to thrive and deliver results under pressure while consistently meeting production deadlines.

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Production Manager with deep fabrication expertise, specifically within tank and trailer manufacturing. You must be capable of effectively managing production teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring uncompromised quality, safety, cost efficiency, and timely product delivery.
