Merchant POS / Agency Banking Officer

Responsibilities:

Recruit, onboard, and train new agents/merchants on POS usage. Manage existing agent relationships and provide ongoing support. Monitor transaction volumes and ensure uptime of POS terminals. Resolve agent complaints and escalate technical issues. Ensure compliance with CBN agency banking guidelines. Drive growth in transaction volumes and deposits through agent channels.

Requirements:

Minimum of an HND in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline. 2–4 years’ experience in agency banking, merchant services, or fintech operations. Strong knowledge of POS systems, agent networks, and financial services. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Skills:

POS operations – managing and troubleshooting POS terminals.

Agent recruitment – building and expanding agent networks.

Customer support – resolving merchant and agent issues.

Compliance knowledge – understanding CBN agency banking regulations.

Sales and marketing – promoting fintech products to agents.

Data analysis – tracking transaction volumes and agent performance.
