Responsibilities:

Monitor local and international news wires, social media trends (X, TikTok, WhatsApp), and government handles 24/7. Execute our "Speed-First" protocol—getting a headline and summary live within 5 minutes of a major event. Craft catchy, searchable headlines that dominate Google Search and Discover. Quickly fact-check "viral gist" to ensure the blog maintains high credibility and avoids fake news. Attach relevant photos, videos, or social media embeds to enhance story engagement. Required Skills & Qualifications An obsessive interest in Nigerian politics, security, and global affairs. Ability to write clean, error-free copy under intense pressure. Familiarity with WordPress (Gutenberg editor), SEO tools (Yoast/RankMath), and TweetDeck/X Pro. Willingness to work dedicated night shifts or weekend rotations (remote options available).

Requirements:

1–3 years in a fast-paced newsroom or digital blog environment. Mastery of the "inverted pyramid" style (putting the most important news first). Knowledge of keyword placement, meta-descriptions, and writing headlines that rank on Google News. Expert use of tools like Google Reverse Image Search to spot fake news before publishing. High proficiency in WordPress or similar news-based platforms.
