Support Physician

Job Objective: To support researchers in managing the conduct of clinical studies by complying with Good Clinical Practice guidelines, the protocol, and related standards and regulations.

Functions:

• Monitor the regulatory activities of the assigned study(ies) (SUSARs, deviations, etc.).
• Perform and keep up to date general training in clinical research and protocol-specific training.
• Attend qualification, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits of delegated studies, as well as investigator meetings where applicable.
• Ensure that all essential study documents (informed consent and all applicable worksheets) are correct and duly approved by the corresponding committees before being used in medical visits.
• Perform the appropriate procedures (completely, professionally, and ethically) for the corresponding medical visit (medical history taking, assessment visit, screening visit, subsequent study visit, study end, early termination, etc.); this must also include the review of laboratory and imaging results to evaluate and follow up on each patient.
• Management and supervision of the investigational product, from its request, receipt, storage, monitoring (temperature), allocation, dispensing, administration, receipt, accounting, return, and/or destruction, as required; with the corresponding registration in the control documents.
• Review, maintain, and adequately protect each patient's clinical record, as well as the essential documents of the regulatory folder, as required by the sponsor, applicable laws, and regulations, adhering to good clinical and documentation practices.
• Attend to medical emergencies, according to the standard operating procedure and according to the requirements of the case.
• Support the training of new personnel if necessary.
• Responsible for compiling the clinical record and source document files, according to internal policy guidelines.
• Responsible for internal monitoring, as assigned, as well as completing data in the Case Report Form (CRF), whether paper or electronic, and following up on discrepancies generated in the CRF in a timely manner to maintain data quality.
• Responsible for keeping internal formats up to date according to the applicable standard operating procedures and external formats required by the protocol.
• Support in other processes when necessary and assigned, for example, taking laboratory samples, sending packages, among others.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medicine, graduated. Professional license required.
• Knowledge of clinical research is desirable.
• Intermediate English level.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical research.
• 2 years of experience in medical consultation, taking vital signs and electrocardiograms, physical examination, and preparation of clinical records.

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and all the medical training necessary for the fulfillment of their activities.
• Basic management of medical emergencies (ACLS or BLS).
• Organization's Quality Management System.
• General Health Law and applicable Mexican Official Standards.
• IATA management of bio-infectious waste.
• Study-specific requirements for assigned studies.
• Microsoft 365.
• Internal information systems.

Schedules:

• Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
