Test Engineer (m/f/d) for Engine Testing (Engineer - Aerospace Engineering)
N3 Engine Overhaul Services (N3) is the European competence center for the maintenance and repair of Rolls-Royce Trent series engines. The joint venture of Lufthansa Technik AG and Rolls-Royce plc. is located on the outskirts of Arnstadt, in Thuringia's largest industrial area, "Erfurter Kreuz". More than 1000 employees service engines for 50 international airlines on behalf of Rolls-Royce.
Check-In / Your Tasks
- Technical support of the engines to be tested as well as the test equipment and the mechanical systems within the framework of applicable maintenance regulations
- Creation of technical documents and test run relevant working papers
- Ensuring the timely revision of technical documents for the engines
- Troubleshooting and problem solving during faulty test runs (on the engine and test bench side) in cooperation with Rolls-Royce and external service providers
- Technical and economic assessment of offers from external suppliers as well as supplier selection in cooperation with purchasing
- Collection and processing of key figures and their data quality
- Evaluation and analysis of test data and results
- Support in the maintenance of the data acquisition system, measurement technology and test software as required
- Participation in projects (e.g. planning and procurement of plant components, planning and execution of maintenance, servicing and modification work, revision of technical documents)
- Technical and direct customer support for third-party business including creation of work orders (e.g. Serviceability Checks, Offsite Borescope Support, etc.)
- Participation in the continuous further development of internal departmental processes
- Preparation and execution of technical meetings within the team
Boarding / Your Profile
- Completed technical university education or completed vocational training (Technician, Master Craftsman, etc.)
- Knowledge in engine technology, plant operation technology, computer-aided measurement technology, data acquisition
- Basic business administration knowledge including economic efficiency calculation
- Good SAP knowledge and MS-Office knowledge
- Pro-active and customer-oriented way of acting
- Ability to work in a team, resilience and commitment
- Goal-oriented and independent working
- Very high sense of responsibility as well as analytical thinking skills
- Good English skills in speaking and writing
